This weeks were filled with pretty much rain. So we were inside for full days sometimes. Tuesday morning it was so wet, Baxter was sheltering underneath the house. I was calling his name, because I couldn't find him at first. But then I saw his head sticking out under the house, and even though it rained so hard, he ran trough the rain to come inside to be with us.

Thanks to all the rain we have beek baking a lot again. We baked brownies for Wayne who took us to Mustique the other day. His wife has a friend who owns a restaurant. For fun he gave her a piece of the brownie and said he made it. Then she said she really liked it and whether he could bake it for Valentine for her restaurant He told her he didn't actually make it. Then he came back to us and asked us whether we wanted to bake the woman two chocolate cakes for Valentine's day. He also took a Kenwood Mixer for us so the baking would be easier. We said we would do it. So on Monday we baked the cakes with our new mixer and got them picked up. It looked as if we were dealing drugs, cause in trade for the two cakes we got money and a brown paper bag. We knew there were two roti's in there, but what would someone else have thought. When we heard about the cakes some day later, it turned out the woman had eaten the cake herself and didn't eventually use it for her restaurant, cause she found it too delicious.
Also, we baked a carrot cake for Raquel, who took us to Fort Charlotte some weeks ago. He told us later, that he had put the cake on his table and went away. And when he got back, the cake was almost gone, because his brother couldn't stop eating from it.
We did a lot of baking for ourselves too(a 'Kerststol',brownies, pancakes, old-fashioned pizza, buttercake, breads and chocolate cake).

Our main occupation of these weeks were the dogs, though. I've been writing about Biscuit the 'Wild' dog several times already. We always found him tied up, often without water or food, without any company (that's why he's 'wild') and now, also surrounded by sharp pieces of glass. We were fed up with this, so Anthony and I spend hours finding him a better spot, which we could reach better, to feed him and keep him company more often. We finally found him a spot and replaced him. Ant had to untie very very double weird knots and I had to hold the 'wild' dog. He immediately turned out not to be a wild dog at all when I walked him for only 2 minutes. The poor dog had so much energy to get out of him. Then he followed me very well and was quite quiet. Then we put him down at his new nice spot and left him for a while. When we got back, the people from downhill had brought him back to his old spot without saying anything. We were quite un-alright with that, so we took him up to our house so they wouldn't interfer any longer.
This was on a Thursday, and on Friday we could already see so much change in his behavior. Only after feeding him normally, walking him and giving him TLC.
The next day we took him to the vet, in a car. We thought of this as a huge challenge, but he was the sweetest dog in the car. Lucky for him, the vet wasn't there, so his first trip to the vet and his first trip by car weren't experiences he had to link with misère.
We fed him more, we walked him more and we gave him more TLC. Also Baxter played a lot with him and was enjoying the walks a lot.
We build Biscuit a dog house so he wouldn't get soaked if there was rain again, and he wouldn't get sunburned if there was sun, again.
We bought him a new dog collar and a longer leash, and Baxter got a pretty canvas darkblue collar.
But then came Valentine's day, the day we picked to be the day for Biscuit to get castrated. We went to the vet, he got him anaesthesized in 10 seconds, got him castrated in 10 minutes and we got him back immediately. So we had a weak Biscuit on our laps in the car, and we dragged him uphill. Anthony and I sat next to him for two hours. At a certain point he got up and walked as if he was extremely drunk, but he got better in the late afternoon. As a get well soon present we bought him and Baxter a big bone. So they chewed and chewed. Then Baxter decided to hide it somewhere, so there was only Biscuit's bone left. But it's so hard to explain to dogs they have their own. And so it came that Baxter stole a piece of Biscuit's bone and they got into a fight. But this time it was much heavier then it was supposed to be. Also because Biscuit felt pretty vulnerable without balls, and Baxter felt pretty superior without Biscuit's balls. Then they got in a huge fight in the late evening, where even Baxter didn't even react on us anymore. And then we had to hose them away from each other and tie them up both for the night.
So the first thing we had to do next day was finding another spot for Biscuit. We put him back where we put him in first place, next to the bungalows. Only now the people from downhill had left him there. Baxter has his terratorium back and more rest. And now we go down thrice a day to walk with Biscuit and feed him. Now he's there, he still seems very happy and relaxed, and both Baxter and Biscuit don't have to fight anymore. The only thing there's, that when it rains, his tiny carpet get's soaked. So we got to build him a floor and now he's totally fine.
Now we are actually waiting for his wound to heal, so that we can try to get him safely untied on the land again. Let's hope this will work.

Meanwhile Roger and Anneke got the bathroom totally finished and it looks very very nice. Also the pizza-oven is finished, and now we are waiting for it to dry so we can bake the first pizza's and breads. Roger has also been making a lot of flowerpots. Also, there came a dude to bushwack the place. He was very motivated and was busy from the morning til the afternoon without any breaks. And when he was finally 'finished', Ann asked whether he really didn't want to drink anything, where on he answered :'Do you have any Listerine?'. We didn't, so she gave him vinegar instead and a Guinness for later, for he only liked his beer warm. Then he suddenly went on with his work again, while he bushwacked everyting for already three times. But he got too enthusiast. So when he couldn't find any weeds to bushwack no more, he decide to wack the Morning Glory's we'd been planting, and which went very well. Then we got him stopped , because he had already done so okay. We'd given him a tiny carrotcake too, which he turned out to eat in one time. We were very glad he liked it so much, the hard-working guy. He really earned it, that's for sure.

On Valentine's day, Anthony and I were mainly busy with a castration, which is somehow weird. But in the afternoon we took some time for ourselves and for a walk to the supermarket to get out dinner. We bought a very nasty chocolate milk which was called 'Dutch chocolate milk' and came from the USA. We had a very nice salad for dinner. Then we went down to the cleaned empty appartment and watched the movie 50-50, drank some home made cocktail and ate a delicious apple-cinnamon traybake Anthony made for me =D. On our way back we both saw the same shooting star at the very same moment. That was very pretty.

In plant-land nothing very special happened, only one of the 'Afrikaantjes' got himself a flowerbud and some pupkinseeds germinated. I've quite some unknown plants growing, for I forgot what I've been planting there...

In animal land we saw an actual iguana in the trees, it really was like a dinosaur. We saw several snakes warming up in the sun. We saw a soldier crab(they eat snails out of their shells and start to live in them themselves) in a shell(Biscuit found him) and a lot of huge toads, which they call Crappo's here. They are in between as big as your hand and as big as your head, so big. Also, I saw an owl flying without knowing it was an actual owl. And for some days, a huge moth appeared in the kitchen in the evening. Some days later it appeared liveless underneat the table. We left him inside for a couple of days just to study him, then we put it outside, and it was disappeared in less than a day, probably eaten by ants. And the last funny thing was that birds tried to fly in trough the window, trying to make a nest there.

For relaxing we played a whole lot of Age of Empires, watched movies which I would't recommend, so won't write down, we finished a puzzle in one day and on Friday we went to Beach combers, drank drinks, and swam in the swimming pool.

It's already the 18th of february and we only have one month left. So if you'll excuse me I'm gonna fill the time that's left with enjoying here! Have a Great Day.
