Anthony and I left the house in Indian Bay for a while to sleep over in the big house in Arnos Vale for some time. We packed our bags and Baxter brought us to the minibus. When we arrived at the big house a woman who keeps the house clean showed us our room and the kitchen, when she left we took a better look at the house. It is so BIG. The kitchen is perfect, so many working surfaces, a good stove and a big fridge. Then you have a dining room with a television, a living room filled with so many rocking chairs you can't imagine. And the size of that room , woow. There's a piano too. And then when you go upstrais there are plenty of sleeping rooms (5) and even more beds.
Everything here is big, every where are windows, everything is super old (furniture, floors, walls, stuff), everything is super fancy. The furniture is amazing. The decoration is pure colonial. You really have the idea of being Elizabeth Swan from Pirates. And then you have this great garden where I already told about before. We can pick fruit from it whenever it's ripe and eat it whenever we fell like it(mango tree in the backgarden , paw paw trees in the side garde, plum rose and soursob too, and orange and coconut). You have a very fancy porch in front of the house too with this casted iron chairs.
And then you have a very nice front garden with several levels where you can have the nicest High Tea. And there are both a very sweet puppy (we called Kevin, like the bird from ''Up' ) and a very nice kitten (Lee-yi). We are localised very near the airport and supermarket.
The only freaky things here is that we find dead bodies of baby lizards so now and then and that we hear lots of noices from the house being old and the streets with racing minibuses are very near.

So we arrived at Friday, when we were settled we went for a walk towards the supermarket to buy the most necesarry stuff .We cooked ourselves calaloo soup, salad and cheese on toast and for desert we had paw paw from the garden, freshley picked. Then we watched Up. Our first night was a little noisy with minibuses racing and putting on their music very loud at three in the night, and it was very windy too. But when we woke up we had a very nice pancake breakfast at the porch in the nice warmth with this very fancy view on the front gardens and a cow and a calf walking in it, so it got much better. Then we went to the vet asking whether we could let the 'wild ' dog Biscuit get castrated and whether we should let Baxter have a check, since he has kind of bad looking nipples, like he has a kind of cancer there. The waiting room looked so chaotic, it was kind of a shop too, and every body just walked in with puppies, getting a check in the middle of the waiting room. A vet nurse was weighing one of the puppies and then it bit her. Then she shouted 'Ouch' all the time and didn't quite manage to put it on the scale. I hope that if we let the dogs have surgery it will be less chaotic. Anyway, they told us to come by whenever we wanted during the week next week, so that was that and we went on to the supermarket to get ourselves some roti ingredients. Then we went back to Roger and Ann in Indian Bay to see how it was there and to pick up some more stuff. They had finished the bathroom and the toilet and warm shower are back again! So that was really nice news. Baxter had been behaving really sad, he hadn't eat anything and he was asking Ann for attention all the time. Maybe he missed us as much as we missed him. (It's so nice to have Baxter around, any time you sit down, he comes sitting next to you, so you have something to cuddle with :D looking into your eyes so satisfied and happy.) We had a drink and a chat, picked our stuff and were brought back again to the big house. Then we cooked roti and watched spiderman.

On Sunday we put our alarm clock at 7:00 cause we planned to go out on a trip with a friend of Roger, who has this speedboat. We wanted to go either to another side of the island our to another island. But the weather wasn't so nice so unfortunately the adventure didn't happen. But instead of this, after Anthony and I saw MIB on television, Anthony's parents picked us up and took us over to 'Young Island'. This is a tiny island across the beach where we are normally sitting and drinking cocktails. They have fancy bungalows there too, and white sand beaches and a bar in the sea. And we were going to have lunch there and have some drinks. We were waiting for the charterboat to get us. Normally you have to call, but nobody answered, probably the captain fell asleep. He was supposed to already have changed his shift too, but he was on the wrong side of the water still. When he finally came, another man brought us to the island. We had (far too strong for me ) Rum Punch. We tried to sit somewhere, but everywhere we got send away, cause 'this was reesrved for the guests only' and a woman running towards us telling us 'they hadn't finished our table yet'. So we were waiting at a third table with our rum punch. Then the president of the island suddenly walked along and was saying hi to Roger, reckognizing him from childhood or something. And then we got seated. Eventually we sat at the same table as the president. Then we had a very nice lunch. They had a very nice oven dish, eggplant, 6 sorts of bread(cinnamon, banana, coconut, raisin, white flour and whole wheat), rice, fruit, salads, bread fruit salad, and for meat roti chicken, fish and goat stew(which kind of tastes like very tender biefstuk). They kept pouring in ice water and for desert we had chocolate cake, peanutbutter cookies and fruit salad. Nom Nom. Then we went for a swim, but on my way I tripped over a kind of gutter I didn't see, then I heard a very loud 'Bang', and then I realised it was me who made the 'Bang' and I was lying on the ground. Then my left foot hurt quite a bit, so Anthony, Roger and Ann had a nice swim and I cooled down my foot in the sea. When you walk to the side of the island there are a lot of wild waves cause they come right from the pacific. On the other side it's much calmer. We were tanning, too and at the end of the afternoon we headed home again. Anthony and I had some pizza for dinner and watched LOTR.

On Monday we didn't get out of the house because my foot was swollen weirdly. So we designed a doghouse for Baxter, which we will make in these weeks, I tried to take care of Kevin's wounds and Lee-yi's ears. At the latter I discovered Lee-Yi had worms. At first I thought a nail hung on her fur and I tried to remove it, but it was weird the nail was kind of moving primitively and then I realised: tapeworm. I showed Anthony Age of Empires, and then Anthony played Age of Empires. Meanwhile I baked a Cake. In the evening we cooked pumpkin soup and ate unripe paw paw, which is disgusting. To cool down the brains we watched Anger Managment.

Tuesday we went back to the house in Indian Bay. We packed our stuff and to say goodbye, we gave Kevin the last part of the pizza. Then we had a nice walk trough the big garden, where we collected some pretty leaves, parts of coconuts and flowers for some handicrafts. Then I saw a shiny plumrose hanging in a tree, and it was at this precise moment when a red ant bit me in the toe. When we arrived in Indian Bay, Baxter jumped upon as like crazy. So we had the dear dog around again, the sea next to us again and internet.

It was great to have experienced living in this big house for some days. And having our own household for a while, cooking our own food and watching movies the whole evening. It's very hard to subscribe how the house was, so just take a look at the pictures to have a better look!
